Dear Professor Kulikowski:

Regretfully, I cannot take part in your Semester "Discrete Mathematics and
its Applications" in Warsaw.  A sufficient reason is that you, regretfully,
cannot pay travel expenses to Poland.  I cannot justify asking the U.S.
Government to pay for my lecturing in your courses.  Why can't "socialist"
countries pay their own way?
